2024 ASEACCU (The Association of the Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities) Student Conference – Students' Reports
October 23, 2024
The ASEACCU Annual Conference has been hosted each year since 1993 by its member Universities. This year, from August 20th to 23rd, Australian Catholic University in Australia hosted the 30th Annual Conference and the Student Program. Representing 10 countries, about 80 students, including two from Nanzan University, gathered in North Sydney to share ideas and discuss this year’s theme: "What makes a Catholic University Catholic?" Expressing and Integrating Identity and Mission.
The Conference theme and program provided opportunities for discussion and consideration of what it means to be Catholic. This year’s Conference featured panel sessions and roundtable discussions on the role Catholic universities and their students can play and the contribution they can make in society.
Throughout the program, students were able to learn from religious leaders, share ideas and discuss issues with other students from different backgrounds. Most importantly, they were able to build lasting friendships with people from many different countries.
Reports submitted by the two students representing Nanzan University are introduced below:
Haruko NAMBA, 4th year student in the Department of Global Liberal Studies
Daito SANNOKYO, 2nd year student in the Department of Data Science
