LAP (Sophia Nanzan Latin America Program) receives an S grade, top marks, in the final evaluation of the MEXT Inter-University Exchange Project (Re-Inventing Japan Project)

June 8, 2021

The "Japan-Latin America Student Mobility Program: Human Dignity and Harmonization in Migration and Coexistence", referred to as the Sophia-Nanzan Latin America Program (LAP), is a joint initiative of Sophia University, Nanzan University and Sophia University Junior College Division. The Program received an S grade, the highest grade possible, in the final evaluation of Inter-University Exchange Project (Re-Inventing Japan Project) from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

The following points were praised in the evaluation:

  • "Three universities multi-campus" took advantage of each university's strong points.
  • The number of inbound and outbound students exceeded the original target.
  • Quality-assured programs were provided by conducting third party evaluation.

The fact that Nanzan University expanded the number of partner institutions in Latin American countries to nine institutions in six countries was also praised. We will strive to further internationalize our University by using the platform created by this Program.
