The way you do one thing is the way you do everything.

In any of the creative arts, the task of learning the skills and techniques required is always easier with the end goal in mind. By envisioning what you want to create from the beginning and experimenting along the way, learning the skills and processes required to achieve these goals becomes infinitely more interesting and meaningful. This self-directed, task-based approach can be applied to all aspects of learning. In language classes, learners can invest in their education by setting goals based on their personal interests. When these goals are established, students gain a greater awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses and are more willing and able to face the challenges involved. Simply put, taking this self-directed learning approach can truly provide a life-changing experience.
