2017 ASEACCU (Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities)
Student Forum – Students' Reports

October 5, 2017

The ASEACCU Annual Conference has been hosted each year since 1993 by its member Universities. This year, from August 21st to 27th, the Assumption University of Thailand hosted the 25th Annual Conference and the Student Program. Representing 8 countries, more than 70 students gathered in Bangkok, including 2 students from Nanzan University, to share ideas and discuss this year’s theme, “Catholic Educational Institutions and Inclusive Education: Transforming Spaces, Promoting Practices, Changing Minds”. The Conference theme and program provided opportunities for discussion and consideration of inclusive education. The student program included local fieldtrips, academic discussions and an excursion to the Father Ray Foundation, which takes care of 850 orphaned, abused and otherwise disadvantaged children, as well as students with disabilities.

Throughout the program, students had opportunities to learn from religious leaders, share ideas and discuss issues with other students from different backgrounds. Most importantly, they were able to build lasting friendships with people from many different countries.

Reports submitted by the 2 students representing Nanzan University are introduced below:
