Student Forum – Students’ Reports

ASEACCU Annual Conference has been hosted each year since 1993 by its member Universities. This year, the University of Notre Dame Australia was the host for the 24th Annual Conference and the Student program. Representing 8 countries, more than 50 students had gathered in Bloom, including 2 students from Nanzan University, to share the ideas and discuss this year’s theme, “Valuing Indigenous Cultures and Traditions in the Care for our Common Home”. The Conference theme and program provide opportunities for discussion and consideration of the Indigenous perspectives on Aboriginal culture and traditions. The student program included local fieldtrips, academic discussions and a full day excursion to an Aboriginal Community.

Throughout the program, students had opportunities to learn from religious leaders, share and discuss the issues that we currently face, and build a lasting friendship with people from many different countries.
