Reports from students who took part in the Student Forum of the 2015
Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU)

October 13, 2015

ASEACCU Annual Conference has been hosted each year since 1993 by its member Universities. This year, it was hosted by Soegijapranata Catholic University, Semarang, Indonesia. Representing eight countries, more than 50 students had gathered in Semarang to share the ideas and think about this year’s theme, “Catholic Higher Education and Religious Inclusiveness”. The Student Forum had commenced two days earlier than Faculty Conference and it offered service learning experiences at local Elementary school and Farmer Association.

Throughout the Forum, students had opportunities to learn from religious leaders, share and discuss the issues that we currently face, and build a lasting friendship with people from many different countries.

From Nanzan University, President Calmano had also attended the general meeting in his role as an executive secretary of the ASEACCU as of August 2015. Universitas Katolik Widya Mandira from Indonesia, and Seisen Jogakuin College had become new member of ASEACCU at the conference. Now, the transfer of the ASEACCU Secretariat to the University of St. Thomas, Manila, will be completed in December 2015.
