Reports from students who took part in the 2014 ACUCA Student Camp

October 01, 2014

The 2014 ACUCA Student Camp was held from 11 to 15 August at Fu Jen Catholic University, which is located in New Taipei, Taiwan. The Camp is an international gathering hosted by the Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA), to which Nanzan University belongs. Its aim is to provide an opportunity for students from Asia to discuss aspects of their culture and societies, deepening mutual understanding in the process. Held biennially since 1994, this year staff and students from member universities from a total of eight countries and regions took part (Thailand, Taiwan, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, India and Hong Kong). Two students from Nanzan University participated in the lively discussion on this year’s topic of “Values Education: Re-discovering Our Values to Foster a Better You and Build a Better World.” The participants talked about aspects that they all shared, and how to create a better world. The “Cultural Night,” in which participants introduced features of their traditions or culture, also provided an opportunity for the students to engage in international exchange.

Reports submitted in English by the two students representing Nanzan University are introduced below.
