From 2004, involved in the operation of the Northeast Asia Regional Secretariat of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC).
From 2006, acted as a member of the executive committee for the East Asia Peace Forum (with the backing of Iwanami Shoten Publishers, Niwano Peace Foundation and others).
Activist for the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN).
Active as coordinating committee member for Abolition 2000 and in other roles.
