Reports from students who participated in the ACUCA Student Camp 2012

October 03, 2012

The ACUCA Student Camp 2012 was held at the International Christian University in Mitaka City from 20 to 24 August.
We would like to introduce the reports written in English by the two students from Nanzan University who participated in the camp.

This camp is held by the ACUCA (Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia) to which Nanzan University belongs. It provides students from countries in Asia with an opportunity to hold discussions with each other about society and culture, thereby deepening mutual understanding. On this occasion, 101 students and staff from 41 universities in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand attended this meeting held under the theme of "Aiming for Tomorrow Where We Can Walk Side by Side: Our Dreams, Our Efforts." They discussed the environmental issues faced by each of their countries and regions and how they might solve these issues. At the end of the camp, the Tokyo Appeal was created in which the participants suggested how we might best move towards a sustainable society.
