In the Department of Law, starting in the freshman year, students are able to take specialized classes in law, such as constitutional, civil, and criminal law. This is because we want students to accurately understand legal fundamental matters from the beginning and experience the fascination of studying law.
Additionally, students can think about various future careers in business, government, and legal professions while referencing the career program, planning 4-year course time-lines, and working towards them.
Every year, from the freshman through senior year, we offer practicum classes that are characteristic of this department - small-group seminars of about 20 students per class. There are also visits to courthouses, prisons, and juvenile detention centers during which time students have an opportunity to commune with the practicality of the legal system.
To support those aspiring to take the bar, civil service, and law school examinations we have opened “special legal extracurricular classes” where full-time faculty from law departments and law schools, as well as lawyers, come to teach and provide guidance, and where students can cooperate and learn together.
