International student's Japan experience report Tour of Seto city

Miyako Akina Fuqua

Indiana, United States of Amarica

The trip to Seto City was one of the greatest experiences I had during my four month stay in Nagoya. It was wonderful to see different styles of pottery along with the many influences Japan had on European art. I also enjoyed walking through the city and seeing the various types of ceramics. Because there was a festival happening as we were visiting the city, I felt a great sense of community. Later during the trip, we even got to create our own art pieces which was a lot of fun! With the help of a professional, I was fortunate enough to take home a Seto City treasure. The fall colored leaves added to the beautifull atmosphere which I will never forget. I'm glad that I had a chance to learn about this unique culture.
