Extra-curricular Events

The events introduced here are those that have been held in previous years. Charges are possible. A participation fee is charged for many of the field trips.

CJS Welcome Party

Held in the Fall and Spring Semesters.
A party is held to welcome new students at the start of each semester.

Nanzan Study Abroad Fair

Held in the Fall and Spring Semesters.
Overseas students from universities with which Nanzan University has concluded exchange agreements introduce their home universities.
This is a good opportunity for Nanzan undergraduate students to gain information about foreign universities at which they can study.

Coffee Hour

Held every month during the Fall and Spring Semesters.
An exchange event offering an opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students to mix with overseas students.
Every year various events are planned, including games and cooking.

CJS Festa

Held in the Spring Semester.
A presentation by CJS students of the ongoing progress in their studies.
The presentations are given in a range of forms, including skits and speeches and many undergraduate and postgraduate students visit the venue.

Field trip (within Nagoya City)

Held in the Fall and Spring Semesters.
Field trips are held within Nagoya City.
To date, visits have been made to Nagoya Castle, the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology and the Noritake Museum.

Field trip to the Toyota Motor Corporation automobile factory

Held in the Fall and Spring Semesters. Participants visit the Toyota Motor Corporation automobile factory and museum.
In addition to hearing an explanation from a Toyota Motors staff member, there is a question and answer session.

Field trip to learn about Zen Buddhism

Held in the Fall Semester.
Visit Zen Buddhist temples in Nagoya City and experience Zen.

Field trip to watch kabuki

Held in the Fall and Spring Semesters.
Watch kabuki in the Misonoza Theater in Nagoya City.
An explanation of kabuki is provided by a staff member of the Misonoza Theater.

Field trip by bus

Held in the Fall and Spring Semesters.
A day-trip by bus.
To date, visits have been made to locations such as Kyoto, Nara, Handa, Gujo and Ise.

CJS Farewell Party

Held in the Spring Semester.
Farewell is held after the Course Completion Ceremony.
Students enjoy themselves in the company of their classmates, teachers and homestay families.
