In the end of August I visited Nanzan for the first time in two years. Despite the sweltering summer heat, it was really great to be back. The first thing I did upon arriving on campus was head for my favorite dining hall. Sadly, however, it was still summer vacation and the closed dining hall could not to supply me with my beloved curry. From there, I made my way over to their new CJS building where I was greeted by all the staff with glowing smiles. While it was great to see them all again, due to my lack of planning I was unable to arrange a meeting with any of my old teachers. However, I definitely plan on coming back to visit again soon!

Other than visiting the campus, I was able to meet up with my host family and some friends from Nanzan during my trip to Nagoya. I have been working as an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) teaching English at an elementary and junior high school in the Saga Prefecture since March. I am planning on working in Japan for a few years, and then possibly going for a masters in either East Asian Studies or Linguistics.
