Caidan Geri

Mr. Caidan Geri visited the university on 24 October, 2008. His Japanese wife was due to give birth to a child at the end of October, so he made time to come and visit his Japanese alma mater before the due date. When he writes his name in kanji he uses four separate characters, but we usually call him “Guri-san”. Guri-san came to the CJS at Nanzan University to study after graduating from Qinghai Nationalities University in China’s Qinghai Province. He transferred to the Department of Japanese in the Faculty of Foreign Studies and when he was in his third year there he was accepted into the Nagoya University Graduate School of International Development as a post-graduate student. He worked for a Japanese corporation for a while after finishing his post-graduate studies, then in the autumn of 2007 he returned to his own university in China, and while working in their international center for educational exchange, he involved himself in Japanese language education in their Japanese language department.
It would seem as though he will be leading a life traveling regularly between Japan and China for some time yet. He said that he will also try to drop in to Nanzan occasionally.
