【Taunusstein, Germany】Lecture on: "The possibilities for Christian missionary work in Japan"

During a visit to his home country of Germany, Nanzan University President Michael Calmano, S.V.D. gave a lecture in his hometown of Taunusstein in a Christian Group Hall that serves as the venue for adult education lectures. The content of the lecture was based upon his 40 years living in Japan, with his personal observations of the connection between understanding foreign culture and language, as well as the feasibility of doing Christian missionary work in an advanced nation such as Japan, with a particular focus on education and religious education at the Catholic university Nanzan University. The lecture was covered by German Catholic newspapers Der Sonntagg (8 August) of Limburg in the state of Hesse and the Wiesbadener Taglatt (14 August)
of Wiesbaden, the capital of Hesse.
