An international conference was held at which delegates gathered from institutions of higher learning in Asia. President of Nanzan University, Michael Calmano,S.V.D. was invited to attend in his capacity as the vice-president of the IFCU (International Federation of Catholic Universities). There was lively discussion by the more than 200 participants of such things as the role Catholic education can play in global environmental issues.
