From 16 to 18 April 2010, President of Nanzan University Professor Michael Calmano,S.V.D., and Vice President for Academic Affairs Professor Kiyoshi Aoki,were invited to the Republic of Korea as the representatives of Nanzan University to an event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Sogang University. Located in the heart of Seoul, Sogang University is a comprehensive private university established by the Society of Jesus. The highest profile Catholic university in the Republic of Korea, Sogang University concluded a mutual cooperation agreement with Nanzan University in March 2009.

Professor Michael Calmano,S.V.D. proposed a toast and gave a speech at the Welcome Dinner held before the commemorative event, which was attended by delegates from its sister institutions from 7 countries. We sincerely hope that our friendly relations with Sogang University will go from strength to strength.
