BIOGRAPHY of the President

Michael Calmano
Born on July 23 1948, in Limburg, Hesse, Federal Republic of Germany (formerly West Germany). Studied theology at a theological seminary in Germany and at the Department of Theology, Faculty of Arts and Letters, Nanzan University, before going on to study pedagogy in the United States of America. In 1975 he was ordained a Catholic priest.
From 1984, Michael Calmano commenced his career as an educator at Nanzan University. In April 2008, he was appointed President of Nanzan University. Calmano now leads a busy life fulfilling various roles related to the Catholic faith. His hobbies are listening to classical music and reading books.
